Job Description

Barrier Fence LLC is a growing commercial fence contractor that specializes in larger commercial, industrial, federal, and governmental projects. Our team handles projects as both a prime and subcontractor. Our company is growing and must add a full time Estimator to our team. We are looking for an experienced Construction Estimator that has an established network of contacts with vendors and subcontractors in the Texas and surrounding areas and wants to grow with our company.

Our new team member will work with the project management team and operations team in the review of proposals requirements, project plans, and specifications to develop winning proposals. The ideal candidate must be experienced with the entire process of proposal development. This individual must have strong attention to detail and communication skills. The goal is to provide the company with accurate job cost information and outstanding proposal writing skills that lead to project awards. Job Responsibilities/Tasks
  • Ability to review and fully understand project plans, specifications, and proposal requirements to prepare accurate cost estimates of labor, material, and equipment needed for completion of construction projects.
  • Obtains bids from suppliers and subcontractors by specifying materials, identifying qualified subcontractors, and negotiating price within a specified time frame.
  • Maintain and update cost codes, labor rates, and unit costs to ensure accurate estimates.
  • Collect and analyze information to resolve any cost discrepancies.
  • Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related tasks as needed.
  • Maintain quality service by following organization standards.
  • Create and maintain a working relationship with clients, suppliers, and vendors
  • Attend Pre-Bid and Pre-Con site visits, photograph proposed work, take measurements, and observe the site access, parking, lay down areas, and other logistical challenges.
  • Ability to use printed plans and digital takeoff software to create accurate takeoffs.
  • Conduct project hand off meetings with Project Manager and Superintendent upon award of project.
  • Work with Financial Controller and Project Manager to convert estimate into a working project budget and project schedule of values.
  • Conduct Scope Review Meetings during buyout of projects.
Requirements/Qualifications
  • Previous experience as a Construction Estimator
  • Extensive knowledge of Construction costs and Preparation of Proposals
  • Knowledge of project estimator concepts
  • Familiarity with Government Contracting a plus
  • Ability to multi-task with strong time management skills

  • Proficiency with current version of Windows, PC platform required
  • Familiarity with current version of Microsoft Office Suite required
  • Good oral and written communication skills in English required

Construction Project Manager

Our team handles projects as both a prime and subcontractor. Our company is growing and must add a full time Project Manager to our team. We are looking for an experienced Project Manager that has an established network of contacts with vendors and subcontractors in the Texas and surrounding areas.

Nature of Work

Provide overall management for a project or assist senior management on projects.  Manage crews, contract documents, subcontractor performance, vendor compliance, budgets, costs, safety, and profitability.  Maintain constructive relationships and communicate with clients, vendors, subcontractors, inspectors, community officials and company staff.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Conduct pre-construction reviews including estimate review and contract documents.
  • Implement purchasing and material logistics plan
  • Ensure subcontractors meet expectations of contract documents.
  • Direct and supervise the use of on-site equipment.
  • Establish and coordinate overall project schedule.
  • Ensure labor, material, subcontractors, and equipment cost control for all projects.
  • Ensure accurate completion and updating of all required project reports.
  • Maintain client relationships and assist in development of new business.
  • Ensure projects are completed per contract documents and schedule.
  • Assume responsibility for providing a safe work environment, as well as complying with all statutory and regulatory requirements.
  • Exercise initiative or, as directed, perform additional duties to meet the needs of the organization.
Requirements/Qualifications
  • Previous experience as a Project Manager
  • Extensive knowledge of Construction Scheduling and Times
  • Knowledge of project management concepts
  • Familiarity with Government Contracting a plus
  • Ability to multi-task with strong time management skills
Experience
  • Two to five years or more of related work experience required.
  • Experience managing Commercial and Governmental projects.
Physical Demands

The work may require specific but common physical characteristics and abilities such as above-average agility and dexterity. Requires a good ability to see, hear, and speak.

Work Environment

Standard project site environments that may also include phasing, machinery, parts, and chemicals. All projects will require protective gear.
